I actually like the feel of Harajuku fashion a lot, since there’s a lot of dynamic energy found in how these outfits are put together, making them a lot more interesting to look at (and draw, my real reason comes out) than “normal” mainstream fashion. People might argue that it’s a little too flashy, but I think it’s possibly one of the best representations of the unrefined cutting edge of fashion; there’s a lot of interesting and experimental stuff happening with this type of dress that I think eventually filters down to add its own flavor to mainstream, commercialized clothing – I figure there’s a reason that the less flashy end of Harajuku looks just like flashy “normal” style. Ironic, because supposedly Harajuku style is a rebellion against this mainstream, commercialized fashion.
Oh, and what’s with pointing your toes inward? Who started that? I mean, I guess even I think it’s cute but… why?
